About Sofya Diktas

Hi, I'm Sofya! I’m a passionate visionary whose deepest desire is to ensure technological innovation is combined with life-centered ethics to solve real problems for real people. Driven by this belief, I am dedicated to developing and advocating for AI policies that balance innovation with societal well-being. In my work, I act as a technical expert to inform policy, ensure standard practices, and develop responsible solutions. I love collaborating with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams – including engineers, policymakers, and ethicists – to experiment and leverage new technologies in inclusive ways. While I genuinely love working with tech, I am very aware of the ways that it can be manipulated to hurt people, and therefore, am always conscious about designing solutions that minimize potential harm. As someone who constantly imagines different possibilities, I am eager and excited to design a new future with effective policies to ensure AI systems work for everyone.
