I am a fourth year Doctoral candidate, currently working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA) in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at UTD. My current research is centered about modeling in non-linear optics, which involves implementing numerical (finite difference) and optimization algorithms (gradient descent) to model various components of lumped lasers and estimate the uncertainty in noise at the wake of a pulse. As a TA, I assist professors by conducting weekly problem sections, creating worksheets and grading. As an RA, I have experience in MATLAB to model realistic loss (due to saturation) in laser components, in a discretized framework.
