6 years ago, I interviewed for a Media/Tech Assistant position at Moore County School with Pinecrest High School as my main work location. During my first year of working in this position, I took the time to understand procedures and gather information for improvement. Within that one year, I made positive changes that improved the End of Year Student Device Collection procedure. The method is now implemented in all the high schools and middle schools in Moore County schools. After 3 years of working at the High School location, I got promoted to the Technology Department as an I.T. Technician I. My responsibility was to support two school locations (one High School and one Elementary School) with over two thousand student devices. I worked in this position for 10 months and was promoted again. Today, I am the Technology and Inventory Specialist for Moore County Schools supporting 23 school locations spread across the County and managing the County's Tech Department warehouse. I am still learning, growing, and finding more ways to improve my skills and refine my Core Values. Instead of studying just technology, I clearly articulated my “WHY” and how my core values align with Moore County Schools. I wanted to understand how my intrinsic traits can improve and bring great value to Moore County Schools and all key Stakeholders. Three things I have in common with Moore County Schools per my Core Values. Embracing a growth mindset through Education and Engagement. Ability to build and nurture the upcoming generation through authentic, efficient, effective, and adaptive education. Modeling diverse and inclusive behaviors that drive a culture of innovation.
