About Son Tran

Hard-working biochemistry student with at least three years of research experience seeking a biological related graduate program where I can utilize experience and knowledge gained. Skilled in Laboratory Management, Communication, Microscope, Data collection and experiment design in many different scientific subject (genetics, cell and molecular biology, and biochemistry). Commitment to becoming a valuable lab member or PhD student by applying natural time management, fast-learning, and leadership abilities. I was born in Vietnam, and grew up in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas. I went to the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) for my bachelor degree in Biochemistry and minor in Biology. I have been compelled by the complex and the dynamic of all the biological processes of life. Science has been always my favorite subjects since I was seven or eight years old. During Undergraduate, I joined Christensen lab where I had my first lab position and pursue science. I am now working as a laboratory technician in Henne Lab - UTSW Cell Biology department where I learned a lot about research. This position developed my mindset and communication skills which help me succeed in graduate school. I am planning to apply for graduate school next year! Any recommendation would help!
