About Sonia Boisvert

I am a partner at PwC Montreal in the Assurance practice and Chief People Officer for PwC Canada. As Chief People Officer, I am helping to create even better experiences so that every member of our talented community of solvers—and future PwCers—can thrive better in this fast-evolving work environment, feel empowered and have more opportunities to succeed. I have held a number of leadership roles, including serving on PwC Canada Partnership Board. Most recently, I was on the Assurance Leadership Team and the Quebec Leadership Group, leading the Assurance practice for PwC in Eastern Canada. I was also on PwC Markets leadership teams, with a focus on the Retail and Consumer sector and on private companies. In the course of my career with PwC, I have delivered certification services to medium and large-sized public and private companies, many of which are SEC-listed companies. I have led audit engagements around the world, including companies with major national and international operations (Canada, US and Europe) subject to stringent financial reporting requirements. My career path has included making major decisions on behalf of complex corporations with multiple establishments worldwide, as well as marshaling and directing resources in various fields of expertise within PwC's global network. I have assisted numerous companies that rely on acquisitions to achieve international growth. Solution-oriented and open-minded, I am playing the role of strategic advisor to my clients. The solid links I have forged with them are a tribute to my listening skills and my ability to manage complex issues. As part of my community involvement, I serve on the board of Fondation Jeunes en Tête (providing mental health services to adolescents). I also served on the board of Quebec's Chartered Professional Accountants (OCAQ) and was a Board Member of PwC Canada from 2015 to 2022. I joined PwC in 1993, obtained my CA designation in 1995 and was named partner in 2004. I worked in PwC New Zealand in 1997. I hold a bachelor's degree in business administration/accounting from the University of Sherbrooke. Among my achievements, I placed first on the Chartered Accountants' Uniform Final Examination in Quebec and won the University of Sherbrooke School of Management's Junior Business Leader award in 2016. In 2017, I received the prestigious title of Fellow for my contributions to the accounting profession. In 2018, I was recognized as one of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women By WXN, Women’s Executive Network.
