About Sonia Omar

For over two decades, I’ve dedicated my life to championing human rights and driving social change. My journey has taken me across continents, from leading capacity-building workshops with activists on West Africa to running training programs for refugees in the UK. I am currently Director of Impact with Pestalozzi International, focussed on growing their already successful global programmes and capturing data to showcase their unique partnerships, approach to holistic education as well as driving social impact through their incredible network of alumni. I am also a Gratitude Network Coach and have the privilege of guiding changemakers be those non-profit CEOs or activists. From 2022-24 I served as CEO of a Moroccan girls’ education organisation supporting the growth of their boarding house operations in the High Atlas region over ten years and successfully raising over £1 million in under three months after the devastating earthquake of 2023. I infuse joy and well-being into change-work and provide tools for change-makers so they can thrive and sustain their energy and vision for social impact. My consultancy areas areas of expertise are: fundraising, digital communications, International partnerships, human rights advocacy, leadership and well-being. I am mixed heritage and multi-lingual, something I feel adds huge value to my work. As well as my work with human rights and international development, I’ve pursued travel and creative projects over the last 20 years, including running a music tour for peace, volunteering for community organisations in India and Sweden, curating international retreats and training as a meditation teacher. I love to collaborate and connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds. I am passionate about travel and thrive in varied cultural, socio-political contexts. I speak English, French, Arabic and basic Swedish.
