About Sonja Jordan

I'm a disciplined and results-driven self-starter, who's lived in multiple corners of the country. I got my start in writing creative short stories as a child, and quickly fell in love with written word. In college, I worked on the student newspaper, and found myself exploring various perspectives from my peers in regards to campus happenings. I worked in Washington D.C. as an intern for the National Defense Magazine, a highly regarded publication in the defense beat. I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Communications, Cum Laude, from Norwich University, a senior military college. As a cadet, I learned how to follow, then lead, and finally teach others to reach numerous goals, as well as to instill the guiding values of the institution. Upon graduation, I made the choice to try different industries- hospitality, retail, food-service, childcare, graphic design & brand enforcement, and as it stands, I am currently a marketing/clerical assistant for Hecht Burdeshaw Architects, Inc, an architectural and design firm located in bustling Columbus, Georgia. I have learned many new skills at this position- notably how to develop RFPs & process AIA documents (including but not limited to: Applications for Payments, Architects Supplemental Instructions, Change Orders, Proposal Requests, and more). I bring an open-mind, with a willingness to learn to new skills to better support an organization and my peers. I have been described as optimistic, patient, and a great collaborator in teams. I miss writing dearly, and a eager to get my foot back in the door- news or not. I will soon be relocating to the Tacoma, Washington area, and I am seeking employment- preferably in-office.
