About Sophia Bulander

An environmentalist since childhood, I fight the climate crisis, heal the Earth, and serve communities. Through my fellowship with the California Climate Action Corps at L.A. Works, I'm demonstrating that I'm an organized, detail-oriented, and well-researched employee. I've solidified my community outreach skills and project management skills working on the biggest volunteer festival in the U.S.(MLK Jr. DOS) and for Days of Service with our corporate partners. I strengthened my technical proficiency with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and ArcGIS. As an RA for my university's environmentally-themed on-campus house, I grew into open-minded leader experienced in problem-solving under pressure. I became proficient in the mechanics of community outreach and team building. I developed as a project manager through event planning, logistics coordination, and people management. By managing the house's YouTube and Instagram accounts, I learned social media management and public relations skills. I graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University as a Schubert scholar on a merit-based, full-tuition scholarship. I am fluent in German and currently studying Spanish.
