About Sophia Seen

I believe that we do well by doing good. As an experienced hospitalist and primary care physician, my patients and their stories inspire me to do my best work. I am passionate about improving the availability and quality of healthcare to underserved populations and I believe that this complex problem requires both medical expertise and business acumen. I received my Medical Degree from the National University of Singapore and have been practicing medicine for over five years. Experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic as a public doctor and as a volunteer physician taught me that a resilient healthcare infrastructure is crucial to meet the needs of vulnerable patients. As a hospital administrator, I spearheaded operational changes to optimise healthcare resources and improved clinical standards at a time when medical resources were scarce. Today, I am an MBA candidate. I continue to live my dream of advocating and advancing health equity and equality through leveraging on business model innovation and strategies. I remain dedicated to clinical work by providing pro bono medical services to underprivileged communities. In my free time, I enjoy scuba diving, bird watching and exploring volcanoes.
