About Sophia Strazinsky

I began my Art Education journey at The Ohio State University in 2015 and graduated with my Bachelor's of Art Education (BAE) in 2019. Along the way, I gained many skills that have made me a highly qualified and passionate artist and teacher. I continuously participate in opportunities to further my education: Study abroad in Kingston Jamaica in 2017 and National Art Educator Association Conferences in 2019 and 2022. I recently renewed my teaching license this year. I have been teaching now for 6 years in the School District of Indian River County. I worked for three years at Sebastian Elementary where I created strong relationships with my students and gained constructive classroom management skills. I currently work at Fellsmere Elementary, a school with a Dual Language Program, where I am creating engaging art lessons with varied art materials to encourage critical thinking skills and creative risk taking. I am also working as an Art Instructor at the Vero Beach Museum of Art. On the second Saturday of the month, the museum hosts a museum studio event in which members of the community can visit the museum and partake in an art lesson for free! My responsibility is to create a lesson in which a wide variety of ages can participate in art making and is connected to the theme or current gallery on display. I have also been an Art Instructor during their Summer Art Camp Program in 2023 and 2025.
