About Sophie Clarkson

I am a senior interior designer at Box Architects, expanding their extensive portfolio into broader markets. I spent 3 years as a lead interior designer at Principle Global, working with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Jaguar Land Rover and BMW, amongst other exciting clients, to design and nurture their brand identities. I was with J S Design for 3 years from 2016, designing restaurants and bars for Star Pubs and Bars of Heineken Group, Pesto Restaurants, Everard’s and Old Mill Brewery. Our projects won Best Transformational Refurbishment in 2018 and then again in 2019, 3 of our other projects were the other runners up. The hospitality industry is fast paced but it seems even more so in the pub and bar world, something I’m very comfortable with. In 2014 I was brought into AHR to help steer the retail sector from supermarket retail into high street retail. Together with my colleague I produced several concepts that push the boundaries of retail design as we know and love it, our extensive understanding of emerging markets and the customer's wants and needs guiding our way. During my time at AHR I worked on several projects within the Education, Leisure, and Healthcare sectors, particularly at design and concept stage building a strong and diverse portfolio. One of my proudest moments was producing an interior design scheme for an new MRI suite for the Leeds General Infirmary; a project very close to my heart. My career started at ASDA head office in the property department developing store layouts for new build superstores; the start of my retail design journey. In my spare time I really enjoy designing wedding stationery to keep my creative needs happy. It all started 10 years ago when my big sister got married and, as a favour, I designed and printed her save the date cards, invitations, table plan, right down to the tiny labels she used to personalise each favour for her guests.
