About Sophie King

My mission is to ensure that people have access to resources to lead productive and healthy lives. I am an advocate for mental health treatment, and have adapted my focus from teaching evidence-based behavioral skills on an individual basis, to connecting people with ongoing mental health services. Through my experience working with a diverse population, my passion has expanded to include improving the health of the community by increasing access to all services. At Seattle Children’s Hospital I have led teams, oriented staff, managed projects, and implemented many process changes. I am dedicated to safe practices in health care, and received the David Fisher Award for Excellence in Safety at Seattle Children’s Hospital as a result of prioritizing this work. I am currently in the Executive MHA program at UW to further my leadership skills, develop my business and analytical skills, and advance my career to be able to affect change on a larger scale.
