Currently working as an Assistant Professor at the School of General Education, BRAC University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Previously worked as an Adjunct Faculty at the Department of Diaspora & Migration Studies, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, India. Education, specially critical analyses on colonial higher education system; 19th Century (Bengal) and 20th Century history & politics till Indian partition 1947; diaspora, migration & refugee crisis, transnational border; comparative studies of history, politics, culture and literature (liberal arts) within the lenses of nationalism and decolonization are the research focus. Mostly Qualitative. Ph.D. from Gujarat University, Ahmedabad, India as an ICCR scholar in 2020. Thesis title:'Nationalist Hegemony in Academic Culture of Pre-independent Indian Subcontinent'. Masters of Arts (M.A.) focused on post-colonial literature, comparative literature, critical theories and creative writings in Bengali language & literature from Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Experiencing many international & national conferences, conclaves, seminars & workshop as a researcher. Experience of working with a number of UN bodies and INGOs as an academic consultant. Experienced journo with a demonstrated history of working in the writing and editing industry. Strong media and communication professional by writing articles & Op-ed in many national print & online media featuring pen name Sowmit Joydip.
