About Soyeon Ahn

I am an educator, academic leader, and innovator committed to building ethical, inclusive, and impactful systems across the full academic lifecycle—from undergraduate and graduate education to faculty development. As Vice Dean and Professor at the University of Miami’s School of Education and Human Development, and Interim Associate Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Mimai, I lead initiatives that integrate data, AI, and human-centered innovation to serve students, faculty, and communities. My work spans educational measurement, statistics, meta-analytic methods, AI-assisted mental health counseling platform, and responsible data science, with a focus on advancing equity and well-being. I founded and lead the BS in Data Analytics and Intelligence for Social Impact (DAISI), the online MSEd in Data Analytics and Program Evaluation, and the Ph.D. program in Research, Measurement, and Evaluation. These programs are designed to prepare students with the technical, ethical, and applied skills needed to address real-world social challenges. I also direct the Responsible Educational Analytics Hub (REAHub) and an interdisciplinary AI Mental Health Counselor Assistant project—each focused on using data and technology ethically to improve lives and inform institutional decision-making. Through collaborative and compassionate leadership, I aim to design inclusive systems that foster long-term growth, interdisciplinary learning, and measurable impact. Whether mentoring doctoral students, launching innovative academic programs, or expanding research infrastructure, I am committed to transforming education into a force for social good.
