About Spelele Galada

I was a CFO for Mayibuye Transport Corporation a position that I’ve held since July 2014 to the 31st of August 2022. I’ve been key in the improvement of the the quality of the service offering of the entity through capital investments. I was previously involved with the TVET sector through a partnership between DHET and SAICA. My main contribution there was do improve financial management. I also ensure that there is sound capital investment that grew the capacity of the TVET college by more than 40%. Prior to the above I was with am currently the EC Department of Health at a Senior Management level rendering services in the department as District Project Manager for the Audit Intervention Project which aimed to turn the Financial Management of the Department including issues of Corporate Governance. Prior to joining the Department of Health, I was a Senior Financial Management Consultant with ZL Multi-Finance Solutions. This company provided consulting services, which include accounting, tax, internal auditing, risk management, supply chain management and corporate governance, to clients which were mainly Municipality, Municipal entities and other Public Sector institutions. I was also involved in formulation and implementation of business turnaround strategies (corporate restructuring). I drew most of my experience prior to the engagement noted above from an Assistant Manager position held at the East London Office of the Auditor General. My responsibilities included planning, executing and concluding audits executed by this office. This included taking responsibility for the supervision, direction and accountability in respect of the work of junior and other personnel on every assignment undertaken, accountable to senior managers in the office. I joined the Auditor General as a 3rd year article clerk having transferred articles from Grant Thornton International to the Auditor General wherein I was specifically looking for exposure to Public Sector. Prior to joining the Auditor General I had served two years of articles at Grant Thornton International in Port Elizabeth and East London. I have been exposed to the normal training afforded trainee accountants under articles of clerkship through the TIP Program. This have a lot of Commercial exposure. I have a passion for making a difference in the Investment Planning, Business turnaround, Cashflow Management, Financial Management, Business process engineering & Internal Auditing Fields due to experience I’ve gained throughout my career.
