About Spencer Schultz

Teacher Statement:"I aim to be the difference in the education system that failed ME as a student." Took me quite some time to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. After herniating a disc in my lower back while serving in Afghanistan as a U.S. Marine I was forced to meld back into civilian life. I opted out of surgery and decided to do Yoga for two years at the Concord Vet Center. My back has never felt better and the power of body movement changed my life forever. My father's life ended too soon when his type II diabetes made it hard for him to survive cancer. It was after this I decided to go back to school and get a degree in counseling and acquire a certificate in Personal training. After being a personal trainer and Team Lead at In-Shape health clubs which was brought to an abrupt halt by Covid-19. I returned to School after getting a job with the local School District in Attendance & Welfare. I have been able to network for two years in the school district and was offered a job as a PERL (Special Education) teacher at Vaca Pena Middle School. I will be going through my PE teaching credential program while doing a year of PERL. Very excited for this new chapter in my life.
