About Srinivas Cherla

One of the first things my friends would say about me is that I am focused and detail oriented. My education, and professional experiences exposed me to various roles in industries, thereby preparing me for challenges faced in business and leadership roles. These skills and experiences ensured that I am good at identifying industry problem statements and finding the products/solutions to address these problems. My market-focused solutioning approach helps me understand and analyse ground level issues and assess their impact in shaping markets. I am no stranger to hands on work and can roll up my sleeves and work efficiently with technology, product, and business teams to solve the most challenging business problems. I am fortunate to have pursued higher education at two world-class institutions (M.S. from Texas A&M University & MBA from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad). My first job at Kennametal offered me an opportunity to manage a $10 Mn global project, & earned me recognition as a young innovator at the Carnegie Science Awards. During my time at Kennametal India, I also established and managed the Computer Aided Engineering function serving the South Asia and Indo-Pacific regions. My second career innings began after my MBA when I co-founded Sustain Impact, a start-up which earned recognition as the "Smart Start-up of the year 2021" at the ISGF awards. Now, as the Director of Sustainability at Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH), I focus on fostering an innovation ecosystem and institutional collaborations, particularly in the Energy, E-Mobility, and Circular Economy areas. My interactions with academic and research institutions, corporates and entrepreneurs have enabled me to gain a unique perspective of the entire research and innovation ecosystem. This provides me visibility of latest developments in technology, regulations and markets, and bring together the right set of people /institutions to solve the industry problem statements.
