About Srinivas Vn

I am a retired Air Vice Marshal, having served in Accounts branch of Indian Air Force (IAF) between 1985-2021. At the time my retirement in 2021, I was head of Finance (Accounts branch) of IAF. Earlier as Air Commodore I worked as Principal Director at Directorate of Financial Planning at Air HQ. During my 36 year old career, I dealt with extensively issues related to Defence Procurement & Defence Budgeting. I was a Research Fellow during 2004-08 at the Centre for Air Power Studies, a premier defence think tank based in New Delhi. As a Research Scholar I authored two notable books related to Defence viz 'Budgeting for Indian Defence: Issues of Contemporary Relevance' & 'Defence Offsets: International Experience and Implications for India'. My educational qualifications include MBA (Finance) from Panjab University, Chandigarh & M Sc (Defence and Strategic Studies) from Madras University besides degree in Law from Delhi University. For meritorious service in IAF, I was awarded Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) by the Hon'ble President of India in 2021.
