I have been doing arts and crafts of one sort or another for the past 25 years.I started out doing loomwork with seed beads. Making all sorts of nifty items like headbands, belts and beaded barrettes. As time went on I discovered decoupage and became obsessed with wooden boxes and all the things you could do to them. Later on I dabbled with tole painting, chainmaille, and leatherwork which came in handy when I was teaching at a summer camp. And now I am mainly focusing on jewelry design. But I still do other crafts especially around the holidays. Blue Griffon Creations(original name of company) started in the spring of 2002 as an outlet to bring to the masses a love and understanding of all things medieval and renaissance. I was and still do on occasion Medieval/Renaissance reenactments. Hence the focus on that time period. But as I looked around I saw that my wares were better suited for the Ren Faire. Which of course were few and far between. So I took a break for awhile to explore all sorts of other crafty mediums. And Silver Griffon Designs was born! I now focus on stationary and home and holiday decor. I love to create note cards/bookmarks. As well as wreaths,lantern swags, and door hangers, And I create decorative tiles, decoupage plaques, trinket boxes and drink coasters. I am a pretty laid back individual who sees arts and crafts as a necessary element in my life. No matter what the medium; whether it be decoupage,jewelry design or sewing. I must have a creative outlet in my life it brings me peace and joy knowing someone can take home a little bit of the happiness I find in creating everyday.
