I am a highly experienced Retail Pharmacy Technician. Based on my experience and exclusivity with my company I was able to gain a remote position that is based in Rhode Island. That position is to take calls from around the US that may come from consumers, doctors, or insurance companies. Those calls primarily involve problem solving and taking complaints. Every call must be coded as either a form of documentation or work distribution for the local Field Leaders which are also equated to Regional Supervisors. That is my job’s main function. I am very familiar with the different sequences of input required to successfully enter prescriptions while ensuring coverage when insurances are involved. My overall knowledge of the internal pharmaceutical functions has proven most beneficial to my daily duties and discussions. Without the comprehension of these internal pharmaceutical functions, I would struggle to appropriately assist most of our consumers. With this comprehension I am able to turn a majority of complaints I receive into minor problems that I am able to collaborate with Pharmacists to resolve. I have been offered several lead roles in local pharmacies, however my previous job role involved a lot of projects and travel. These offers would have given me more responsibilities and less pay. I am a benefit to my company as a form of damage control and assistance to our Supervisory Teams. This position brings a level of simplicity and comfort to my life that was not previously available. I believe this statement openly exhibits the amount of functional growth a beginning Pharmacy Technician may experience under the proper guidance. Pairing that guidance with determination and a willingness to learn, one may step outside of one’s traditional functions and become useful in ways never perceived during that beginning role. I have developed in ways I could not have imagined during that Pharmacy Tech Program my dad forced me to take. It turned out to be the perfect job for me.
