About Stacy Gallegos

As a School Social Worker at Palm Springs Unified School District, I collaborate with students, families, teachers, and administrators to deliver comprehensive services that enhance academic, social, and emotional well-being. I conduct thorough assessments, develop tailored intervention plans, and provide individual and group counseling. Additionally, I facilitate referrals to community resources, ensuring that students and families receive the support they need. I actively support the implementation of positive behavior interventions and supports, trauma-informed practices, and restorative justice approaches, fostering a safe and nurturing school environment. My goal is to empower students to thrive both academically and personally. Before my role at Palm Springs, I served as a Crisis Counselor Supervisor at Crisis Text Line, where I led and coached a team of bilingual and monolingual volunteers. Together, we provided critical crisis intervention and emotional support to needy texters. I ensured compliance with policies and protocols, delivered constructive feedback, recognized volunteer contributions, and effectively escalated high-risk situations to safeguard those in crisis. I also worked as a Social Services Practitioner at the County of Riverside, where I managed complex cases involving child abuse, neglect, and dependency. This experience honed my skills in case management and advocacy for vulnerable populations. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Sciences from Azusa Pacific University and a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Children, Youth, and Families from the University of Southern California. My education and experiences have equipped me with core competencies in school social work, crisis intervention, and bilingual communication. I am passionate about helping diverse and vulnerable populations achieve positive outcomes and enhance their quality of life.
