Background
About Stacy Gundersen
Stacy will serves as a liaison supporting federally recognized tribes and tribal organizations in Region 10, primarily in Alaska. Based out of the Alaska Area Office, she will build and maintain relationships with key tribal emergency management partners, tribal organizations and others in support of tribal priorities and FEMA’s new Strategic Plan and National Tribal Strategy. Stacy will serve as an advisor to senior leadership on tribal matters, particularly in Alaska, and provide guidance on ways the region can better support tribal partners. She will also lead tribal communications and outreach efforts in Alaska. Stacy was previously employed as an Indian Child Welfare Act caseworker for the Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association from 2018-2022. The association is a federally recognized tribal organization of the Aleut people in Alaska and a nonprofit organization that provides a range of services throughout the region. Stacy’s work in this position gave her the opportunity to build relationships and provide services and resources to tribal communities while working directly with the tribal families, administration and councils throughout the Aleutian Chain. Stacy has a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She and her husband, Anthony, are proud parents of four kiddos: Mallorie, Vanessa, Brooke and Leo. Stacy and her family live in Anchorage, Alaska, and they love spending time at the beach or in the ocean, cooking together and enjoying many of the outdoor activities Alaska has to offer.
