About Stacy Meyer

I have worked and served in public, private, homeschool, and international school settings. These opportunities have afforded me experiences that have shaped my perspective on effectively teaching all students by building authentic relationships. Relationships are the key! This is a foundational idea relevant and transferable to the jungles of Ecuador, the villages of Malawi, our local K-12 elementary schools, and here at California Baptist University (CBU). Equipping future teachers at CBU is a true joy. Because I was a first-generation college student, I look for ways to support and encourage others to persevere in their degree completion. My doctoral research in school retention in vulnerable populations has opened the door to global opportunities for our students. I know what we do in our School of Education programs will determine what takes place in our local classrooms. As a result, my goal is to touch the heart of my students so that I might then impact their minds – and then teach them to do the same with their students! “If you don’t have the HEART of your students, you will never have their MINDS!”- unknown
