About Stacy Obrien

Currently serving as a Full Time Instructional Tutor with Florida Virtual School. Passionate about writing and developing curriculum as well as supporting other instructors by sharing instructional strategies. My experience falls in a wide range of educational endeavors as I started my career in college admissions counseling/recruiting and currently work as a virtual instructor. After earning my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction I spent 5 years in elementary education, and 12 years instructing middle school language arts, English, reading, writing, private tutoring and college counseling. I am gifted, reading, and ESOL endorsed, certified in English 6-12 and elementary age 3-grade 6 in all subject areas. My leadership in education consists of conducting teacher and parent trainings in curriculum and instruction, leading the English department, supervising community service summer camps, developing and implementing curriculum in gifted education, and playing an active role as a committee member of student recognition and standards based grading. I have volunteered as the cross country coach, tutoring students, and taught as an adjunct professor at my alma mater, Florida Southern College. Lastly, I volunteer and stay active in my daughter’s school as the VP of Fundraising for PTA.
