I’ve successfully coached employees and leaders helping them meet their full potential as an individual and professionally as part of a team. The result I’ve seen is an engaged workforce contributing to the success of the organization. For 20+ years I have been fortunate to work with great people and organizations that provided a wealth of opportunities and continuous learning. My opportunities have taken me across Canada and the U.S. working in federal, provincial and state jurisdictions. I have built up my HR tool kit to provide full lifecycle HR management solutions from recruitment to retirement. In the process I’ve worked through the grey areas of compensation and benefits, organizational design, workforce planning, succession management, employee and labour relations, policy and legislative compliance, change management and meeting facilitation. I’ve been successful identifying and developing people strategies that align with an organization’s goals. But, that was not always me. My career path was to be an Engineer. I jumped feet first into the world of derivatives, thermodynamic heat transfers and formula after formula. The world was black and white. Then something happened, the black mixed with white…and I got grey and my focus shifted to people and HR as a career. I still enjoy the black and white. My engineering studies provided me with a well-developed systems approach and allows an ease of communication with technical and trade staff, but the challenge is to develop people solutions for the grey areas to create engaged employees who deliver business results. Open to connect with others to share HR challenges, ideas or solutions, I welcome new connections to develop working relationships that benefit us both. None of us would be where we are without exchanging ideas and working together with others.
