IT project manager with UBS for 11 years and with ADP for 2 years prior to that. My specific job responsibilities were the deployment of information technology hardware and software both in the campus environment and at hundreds of offices worldwide. The one PM tool that seems under-utilized is relationship building and management. This area is crucial to success and seems to be, in my experience, neglected. People want to work with people with whom they have developed a rapport; otherwise an adversarial relationship can develop which limits one's ability to be effective.
