I am fascinated by relationships: our relationship with our food, our food's relationship with our health, and the myriad ways our societies and our cultures impact and shape those relationships. Currently, I am a Ph.D candidate in the Kable Lab at the Western Human Nutrition Research Center, where my research focuses on the impact of honey consumption on the human small intestine microbiome in the context of food-borne pathogen resistance. My work encompasses nutritional microbiology, nutritional immunology, and food science. Nutrition is intersectional by default; its stories are always stories about relationships.
