About Stefan Larese

My professional career has taken me through multiple facets of the Investigation, Law Enforcement and intelligence communities. After graduating from the US Air Force Academy, I began my career as an active duty criminal investigator with the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. Upon returning from a combat deployment to Afghanistan in 2002, I began my federal career as a Special Agent with the US Department of Education in Kansas City, MO. In 2004, I transitioned over to the FBI where I was a Special Agent assigned to the San Diego field division. In 2006, I found my true calling by becoming a Special Agent with the US Department of Veterans Affairs in Denver, CO. In 2021, I was promoted to be the Resident Agent in Charge of both the Denver and Salt Lake City resident offices. I enjoy working in the field of criminal investigation and helping to prevent and investigate criminal activity as well as fraud, waste, and abuse of government programs. My goal is to ensure VA money and programs are provided and used by only those who have earned that right by serving this great country with honor. In addition to being a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), I am also a firearms instructor, a basic tactics instructor, and an active shooter threat instructor. I relish the opportunity to teach other law enforcement professionals skills that if used properly will keep them and the public they protect safe.
