Senior Advisor with a focus on Healthcare and Life Sciences. MD and Assoc Prof at the Karolinska Institutet (KI) in Sweden. I completed my Ph.D. studies at KI and Harvard Medical School and my post-Doc at MRC-Human Genomics unit in Edinburgh, Scotland. 1996-2021 with The Boston Consulting Group. 2011-17 I lead the firm's global HC Payer & Provider sector and 2017-20 it's global Health systems sector. Named a BCG Fellow in 2010 with research focused on value-based health care - how transparency on health care outcomes and patient group costs will drive the transformation of health care systems. I n 2012, co-founded a not-for-profit The International Consortium of Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM) with Prof Michael Porter at the Institute for Strategy and Competitiveness at Harvard Business School and the Prof Martin Ingvar of the Karolinska Institute. I am currently ICHOM's Board chair. I am a frequent speaker on health care outcomes and Value Based HC and in 2013 I presented a TED.com talk on the topic,"What Doctors Can Learn from Each Other." I have worked extensively for clients across the health care industry. Specific experience includes - strategy, organizational redesign, and operational effectiveness for leading Nordic university hospitals and private health care provider organizations- consultation to the pharma industry on strategy, R&D effectiveness, regulatory issues, drug safety, manufacturing, in-licensing strategy, and commercial compliance; and - an extensive range of commercial due diligence projects for leading investors seeking opportunities in health care, including private providers, pharma, medtech, and biotech. I have published >25 articles in peer-reviewed international journals, mostly recently in Health Affairs, New England Journal of Medicine and PlusOne on the topic of value-based health care.
