Fishery and Commercial Manager | Marine Stewardship Council Canada East Advancing sustainable fisheries through technology, partnerships, and community empowerment. My journey in marine conservation began as a Species at Risk Permitting Biologist, and today, as the Fishery and Commercial Manager at the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) Canada East, I work to support fisheries and commercial partners in acquiring and maintaining MSC Certification. I promote the high-quality, sustainably harvested products from Atlantic Canada and share the inspiring stories of fisheries leading the way toward more sustainable practices. This approach empowers me to make informed, efficient decisions that positively impact marine conservation efforts. I develop custom AI tools and bots that support communication and enhance productivity in complex, data-driven projects. Collaboration and Impact: I work across sectors, bringing together fisheries, government, retailers, and industry to advance sustainable practices that benefit marine ecosystems and local economies. My work includes promoting sustainability initiatives within the fisheries sector, helping to share the stories of those taking meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future. I've also collaborated with First Nations and municipalities, advocating for off-reserve Indigenous communities, including through my work with the Maritime Aboriginal People’s Council, to ensure their perspectives are represented in fisheries policy. Looking Ahead: I’m committed to growing my expertise and expanding my network, particularly in the areas of species-at-risk protection, habitat reconstruction, and AI applications in environmental management. I’m passionate about empowering fish harvesters at all levels and continuing to promote sustainable business practices in the fisheries sector.
