About Stefano Blezer

I am a brave and sweet Pirate! Pirates fought against the status quo. I fight against the current educational system. We need a renewed perspective on the role of education and research in society to address global challenges. Focused on themes instead of singular courses. From teaching to learning together. From mono to trans-disciplinary. From standard to personalized. A learning system to grow as location-aware global citizen. Next to this, I advocate Peace. To me, it is a way of dealing with one another to understand the diversity of local-level expressions of global challenges. If we respect each other and make use of the learning potentials of mutual inspiration to govern transitions, then we operate with Peace. Via my experiences, I 1) became particularly interested in the relationship between the urban environment and human behaviour, I 2) advocate an established role for the built environment in achieving the UN SDGs, and I 3) emphasize the relevance and role of education in context to enhance learning and societal impact. Others call me an Owl for my wisdom and intellect, my well-considered analytical overview, my brave and courageous attitude, and my relaxing, calm yet controlled appearance.
