About Stefano Converso

Stefano is a professional Architect and is currently a Researcher in the field of Architectural Design at Roma Tre University. He investigated since its early adoption the impact of Digital Design and Simulation Technology in the AEC Sector, and its relevance to Design Thinking. He worked as expert and consultant for BIM and Digital Manufacturing with several private companies and institutions in Italy, and leaded a group that pioneered studies on Digital Design and Manufacturing Technologies at Roma Tre University, in connections with relevant International Institutions and with a wide research network. Between 2011 and 2014 he was involved as Project Manager in the first Italian proposals admitted to compete in the International Solar Decathlon competition. He introduced in the team advanced digital methods for architectural design and engineering but also for home automation and life management, by developing custom tools and applications. The 2012 project,"Med in Italy" received several awards, the 2014 project,"RhOME" was awarded with the 1st prize. Further projects include the CNC Design for the doubly curved wooden envelopes of Rome "Convention Center La Nuvola" and the Integrated Design for TIM Offices Campus Renovation in Acilia, Rome, currently under construction.
