About Stefano Negro

Stefano Negro Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at University of York | Theoretical Physicist I am a theoretical physicist with over a decade of research experience specializing in quantum field theory, integrable systems, statistical mechanics, and advanced mathematical models. My research has led to several publications in world-class scientific journals and includes collaborations with leading international researchers at institutions such as NYU, École Normale Supérieure, and SUNY Stony Brook. I hold a PhD in Physics from Università degli Studi di Torino in joint supervision with Université Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris VI, and have held post-doctoral positions at top research institutes worldwide. My work focuses on low-dimensional and integrable models of quantum field theory. Amongst my most impactful outputs, I co-pioneered a new line of research: the theory of solvable irrelevant deformations, to whose development I contributed since 2016 in various collaborations. Proficient in Mathematica and competent in C++ and Python, I thrive at the prospect of exposing myself to new challenges, pursuing new knowledge, and exploring ever-different applications of my analytical and creative thinking. I am particularly interested in transitioning into quantitative finance, leveraging my theoretical background to develop innovative models and strategies. Let’s connect if you’re looking for someone with deep mathematical foundations, a flexible and creative mind, extensive experience in research, and a drive to explore real-world, impactful applications.
