About Stefano Rossi

I’m an aerospace engineer passionate for challenges and space. I focused on Attitude Determination and Control Subsystems, Propulsion, Flight Dynamics and Robotics for Space. Plus I had some experience of the "space business" working with ESA, Swiss Space Center, and Swiss Space Office. In Astrocast I've covered different positions from ADCS engineer, propulsion engineer, and responsible for the launch campaigns of our 18 satellites. I participated in the integration on site of our four satellites at Cape Canaveral in 2022 working with SpaceX and D-Orbit. And now, I'm managing the satellite constellation deployment and performing analysis of our constellation. In the Swiss Space Center I initially worked on the analysis of the flight data of SwissCube. Then, as AOCS System Engineer, I was responsible for the next CubeSat mission of the Swiss Space Center - CubETH- leading a great team of around 25 students and internships during the years, achieving great results, test setups and successful papers on ADCS. As well, I challenged myself Business Development for Space Applications, working as Swiss National Affairs Coordinator for the Swiss Space Center. I was responsible of several small projects for space application in collaboration with ESA as Technical and Contract Officer. In parallel I worked in the Business Development side, helping small and bigger companies to face their technologies for space applications, preparing proposals and collaborating at the same time as consulting for space technologies. I love working in a young and dynamic team and challenge myself with the management. I've supervised several students at the EPFL during their semester and master projects improving my teamwork and management skills. At Astrocast I improved my management skills leading several internships and a team of talented engineers! In parallel, the employees elected me as their representative, and I served for 1 year as Employees Representatives. My wish is to continue my journey "through space" and its challenges! My secret love is Triathlon and Ironman competitions (8 times half Ironman finisher), challenging myself in endurance sports where body and mind have to find the right balance to reach the result.
