About Stefano Rossi

I am a materials scientist passionate about nanotechnologies, and I find fascinating the ability to induce novel physical properties through nanostructuring materials. My main research interests include light-matter interactions and nanofabrication, with technological applications in optics, optoelectronics, and organic electronics, using both inorganic and polymeric materials. I am adaptable, pragmatic, and goal-oriented, and I prefer an applied approach to research to tackle specific challenges, problems, and improve devices. My core expertise includes: • Extensive work in cleanroom and optical characterization facilities. • Micro- and nanofabrication techniques, and thin-film deposition. • Nano-optical simulations (Lumerical FDTD, Comsol Wave Optics) and nanophotonic systems. • Conducting polymers and their integration with optical systems, organic electronics. I have been part of highly multidisciplinary environments and I enjoy interacting and working with team members from different backgrounds. This has improved my communication, supervision, and presentation skills. I am a fast learner and I like challenging myself to learn new topics. I have experience in data analysis, scientific writing, and planning and management of research projects. I am always looking forward to new challenges and projects to solve problems, and advance and optimize new technologies, processes, and devices.
