Dr-Ing. Steffen Ulmer, male, holds a degree as Mechanical Engineer (Energy Systems) and PhD from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. He worked from to 2011 for the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in the area of qualification of solar thermal power systems in the solar research unit at the Plataforma Solar de Almeria, Spain. Since 2007 he is one of the managing directors of the DLR spin-off company CSP Services, which he founded together with two former DLR colleagues. Activities with his teams in Germany and Spain include scientific and commercial projects in the field of concentrating solar technologies worldwide. He has more than 19 years of experience in solar collector design, testing and modelling, development of new measurement methods, qualification and performance improvements of solar thermal power plants, measurement campaigns and system implementations at solar thermal power plants and production sites worldwide, as well as technical consulting, project management and international business management.
