About Steffi Stern

I started my working career as a shipping clerk after completing my 13 year education (Abitur 1.6) in Germany. I soon became a pioneer leading as one of the first female ships agents within Europe completing my Member and then Fellowship of The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. I was the first and youngest female board director at a UK ships agency Graypen Ltd after I founded a new shipping division GP Shipping. In I founded my own OD business and retrained in all kinds of facilitation and organisational development aspects such as Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Belbin, MA in Management Learning, NLP (which I have very mixed feelings about), High Ropes instructor and facilitator. I took a break 2006 - 2010 to be a mum of four children staying at home where incidentally I gained more management skills than in my 15 years of corporate life! I then founded Mother Goose, a Craft shop, the only work I could do whilst having my youngest two children with me full time! Hell on Earth but I survived! In 2013 I was offered to write a book (dream come true) and I co-authored my first book which was published in 2015. My second book came out in 2018 and the third one in 2020. My fourth book on needle felting was released in February 2022. I now run the Craft business The Makers based near Stroud in Gloucestershire. My business interests are women leaders, crafting with children, mental health & crafting, re-wilding and preservation of the Natural World. I love building businesses and public speaking. I am a Designer and good at selling what I love (cause it’s a no brainer to share what works, right?) I love running and doing functional fitness CrossFit. I love Sudoku, murder stories, dogs and cats, walking in the forest, knitting and crocheting, cooking, cleaning and though despairing most days, I love my chaotic noisy family life.
