Personal motto:"All People Thrive". Committed to ending racism and intolerance in the world. Particularly interested in improving outcomes for people residing in low-income, poorly-resourced neighborhoods. This manifests itself by putting passion into action and being generous with contributions of time, talent and treasures within my community and spheres of influence. Excited to envision outside the norm and craft details to execute the work. Solid background in nonprofit management including a decade as Executive Director of Jacob's Ladder Job Center, Inc. Held leadership positions, locally and regionally, with Community Link, Care Ring, YWCA Central Carolinas, Muscular Dystrophy Association, Spirit Square Center for the Arts, and the American Red Cross. Specialties: Grant writing, public speaking, advocacy for people in poverty, brainstorming, networking, storytelling, program planning and implementation, special events planning and execution, volunteer program design, implementation and management and bringing diverse groups together for collaboration and transformative action.
