About Stella Phillips

I am a pre-med student at Lebanon Valley College majoring in neuroscience with a concentration in French. Currently, I serve as a volunteer firefighter with Annville-Cleona's Fire Department, with intention to complete an EMS certification at HACC and become a volunteer EMT with the department in the fall of 2024. I have shadowed in both otolaryngology and internal medicine, bolstering my knowledge and understanding of the medical field as well as the workplace culture and expectations. During my time at Lebanon Valley College, I have acted as a peer tutor for subjects in biology and French, increasing my skills in communication, teaching, and understanding. I also worked as a student researcher in the biology department, specializing in oncological drug research in Drosophila melanogaster, which I presented in 2024 at the 99th Annual Meeting of the Pennsylvania Academy of Science. This research taught me valuable skills in data collection and analysis, as well as scientific writing and oral presenting. In the future, I hope to gain more experience in medicine and apply my diverse skills to the medical field.
