About Stella Vig

I am a Vascular and General Consultant Surgeon based at Croydon University Hospital. My passion is improving education and driving innovation in patient care. Appointed as the National Clinical Director of Elective Care whilst continuing as a provider Clinical Director and London General Surgery Clinical Director enables me to influence change at National, Regional and System level. During tenure, we have significantly improved the delivery of elective care at Croydon University Hospital and these principles drive regional and national change. Having worked extensively in clinical education, I have gained wide experience of teaching postgraduate clinicians and allied professionals. Currently I am Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George’s Medical School and Higher Training Programme Director for Health Education England (HEE). I am dedicated to optimising healthcare service quality, standards of care and clinician capabilities. Since 2016, I have been a Council Member of the Royal College of Surgeons. I am proud to have received the Silver Scalpel Award ASIT (2018) and London NHS Leadership Academy Mentor of the Year (2015). I bring an excellent portfolio of research and publications. A critical and innovative thinker; I deliver a fresh, independent perspective and an inquiring mind. In 2017, I completed the Senior Leaders Programme at the Kings Fund.
