About Sten Schurer
Since October 2021 I work as technical advisor for the German Organization for International Cooperation(GIZ) in Bonn, Germany. I contribute to the Global Project Water and Energy for Food (WE4F), the International Initiative WE4F, and the Global project Sun4Water where I focus on irrigation in Sub-Saharan Africa. Preceding this position, I concluded a 6 month internship in the same projectd at GIZ. In 2020, I obtained a master’s degree in Water Management from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Delft University of Technology. Throughout my studies I gained experience as student assistant at two international universities, by conducting water related research in Zambia and Mozambique and as a research assistant at the economic consultancy company Ecorys. My strengths include Python programming, GIS, hydrological modelling, RTK GNSS applications, international cooperation and a positive and practical approach to any given challenge.
