About Sten Skarman

For more than 25 years I have been working with in working with ERP-based Supply Chain solutions. Specializing in forecasting/demand planning, inventory management and purchasing. At Iptor/IBS I have 25 years of experience as development responsible for the purchasing half of the ERP-system including the inventory management module. My work consisted, for example, of collecting requests from customers and further developing the system, training, support and finding the best solution for our customers. Working closely with the customers to get the full effect of inventory management has always been the most enjoyable part. Without problems, I can (if needed) explain how Exponential smoothing works to calculate forecasts, how the Wilson formula works to optimize the lowest sum of order cost and stock holding cost, as well as why you need to assume that the consumption during the lead time forms a bell shaped normal distribution when you based on a given service level want to calculate safety stock.
