About Steph Wang

As a queer, first-generation Taiwanese American who has traveled and worked abroad, I have an aptitude for bridging differences in cultures, languages, and ideologies. I hope to combine my strong analytical and organizational skills with my passion for social justice to help empower those who are the most marginalized and build strong, equitable communities of opportunities. I hold a MPA from the UW Evans School of Public Policy and Governance and a BBA in Supply Chain Management from the McCombs School of Business. I am broadly interested in social policy but my specific areas of interest are in food sovereignty / equitable food systems, housing justice, and workers rights. I have previously worked in a wide range of industries, including: aerospace manufacturing, tech, agriculture, and the non-profit space. Outside of work, I enjoy challenging myself physically and mentally, including competing in ultramarathons and Ironman triathlons. The time management and goal-setting skills that I have been able to hone through athletics translate directly to my professional work.
