About Stephan Edgar

As a recent graduate of UC Santa Cruz, an alum of the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps, and an eager young professional working in the fields of Emergency Management and Mission Continuity, I endeavor to provide a diverse skillset capable of addressing the complex needs within the EM/MC professions. My educational background in Computer Sciences has allowed me to include a technical lens to the EM/MC field through projects associated with ArcGIS, WebEOC, and Everbridge. Additionally, my knowledge of programming fundamentals (C, C++, Java, Python) and website editing (HTML, CSS) allows me to directly create deliverables for stakeholders. Within AmeriCorps my role as a Team Leader fostered organizational, leadership, and practical decision-making needed to address the unique circumstances of our service year. My team operated supporting long-term wildfire recovery support in Paradise, CA, Hurricane Response in Lake Charles, LA, and Poverty Response in King County, WA. In my current role at UC Santa Cruz, my role has taken on strategic capabilities to include infectious disease response, community safety, emergency management, fire and life safety, and more. I am currently working towards attaining an Associate Emergency Manager (AEM) certification through IAEM and pursuing graduate degree options within the Emergency Management, Mission Continuity, and Homeland Security subject areas.
