Immigration has been my entire career. It is a complex, fast-changing, and sometimes illogical area of law, but that keeps things interesting;) I am passionate about National Interest Waivers (NIWs), a special category of green cards for foreign nationals whose work will significantly contribute to the United States' national interests. Or, as I like to say, NIWs are for badasses who make our country better. On day one, I had no knowledge of immigration law. The firm put me on an R&D team that tested the limits of NIWs. Within six months, I was running the team. My team cracked the code and secured green cards for hundreds of brilliant scientists and engineers in our first year. As a result, we saved millions of dollars for our clients and changed the green-card game. In December 2016, the government altered the legal standard for NIWs, and then I changed the game again. My overall success rate on NIWs is still >95%, and that includes borderline cases. Although NIWs are still my favorite, I have special interests in EB-1B Outstanding Professors/Researchers and EB-1A Extraordinary Ability (and its work-visa equivalent: O-1 Extraordinary Ability). I've represented clients of all sizes in many industries, from physicians, scientists, and business professionals to Fortune 500 companies. My clients have enjoyed many thousands of approved cases with me as their trusted advisor and advocate, including petitions for these types of work visas: • H-1B Specialty Occupation (for professionals whose occupations require at least a bachelor’s degree in a specific specialty) • L-1A Intracompany Transferee: Multinational Executive or Manager (for foreign executives and managers transferring to related companies in the U.S.) • L-1B Intracompany Transferee: Specialized Knowledge (for foreign employees with advanced, proprietary knowledge of their employers’ products and services transferring to related companies in the U.S.) • O-1 Extraordinary Ability (for individuals with extraordinary ability in their field of expertise) • TN NAFTA Professionals (for Canadian and Mexican professionals in NAFTA categories) • E-3 (for Australian professionals whose occupations require at least a bachelor’s degree in a specific specialty) I also represent individuals in naturalization and family-based permanent-residence cases, including expedited, direct filing at U.S. consulates based on exceptional circumstances. My pro bono work includes asylum, special immigrant juvenile, and Board of Immigration Appeals cases.
