About Stephan Toonen

My name is Stephan Toonen, I am an experienced advisor with knowledge of many projects where I have been able to contribute my constructive and process expertise. Passionate about turning “nothing” into “something.” It’s the magic of developing a structure that leaves users and clients with a resounding “Wow” effect. After completing my education at the Higher Technical School in Arnhem in 1994, I immediately started working at our parent company ABT. Starting as a structural engineer and progressing to advisor, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute in various projects. From small to large, from deep to high, from renovations to museums, from deep parking garages to high-rise towers in a bustling city center. Since 2017 I have been involved with Windbase. Personally, my satisfaction in my job has grown exponentially with our expanding international presence. A few years ago, we shifted our focus abroad, recognizing that the climate issue is a global one. It’s heartening to see that our designs, especially on a global scale, can make a difference for our planet and clients. I’m energized by two things for the future: utilizing sustainable materials and incorporating data analysis into our designs.
