Stéphane Gesbert is a principal geophysicist with extensive experience advancing technology, driving innovation and excellence in seismic interpretation, and delivering significant business value at Shell E&P. Stéphane holds an MS in Applied Physics from Paris VII University and a civil engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris. He began his career at Sopha Medical before joining Shell E&P, where he has contributed to R&D in seismic processing, imaging, and interpretation. Stéphane notably built and led the Subtle Traps R&D team, creating patented technologies that have influenced the future of seismic interpretation at Shell. He currently spearheads groundbreaking R&D in stratigraphic and quantitative interpretation (QI) in collaboration with strategic partners. As an experienced geophysicist, Stéphane has played a key role in de-risking major prospects across Shell Heartlands since 2005.
