About Stephanie Bisignano

I am a University of Pittsburgh graduate in psychology and writing that takes pride in a hard-working, go-getter attitude. I am always looking for opportunities to strengthen my skillset, build relationships, and develop new tools for the future. My career interests are vast including (but not limited to) fields of psychology, social work, and counseling. Learning is a lifelong endeavor. Regardless of where I am presently or in the future, I am ready to take on new challenges and achieve my goals with tenacity, passion, and a smile. I am currently working as program assistant for Pittsburgh Mercy’s Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment (IDDT) team. IDDT specializes in treating those with chronic mental illness and substance usage in the community through harm reduction protocol, relapse prevention strategies, practical supports, and other important factors into stability within the community and achievement of sobriety. Working face-to-face with clients as well as doing back-end administrative work has been incredibly rewarding and has advanced my skills both in the field and behind the scenes. In the near future, I am planning on pursuing a graduate degree in social work and public health to continue to serve underprivileged populations with compassion and empathy. I intend to dedicate my life’s work to assisting those struggling with mental or behavioral disorders, meeting them where they are at, and providing services to assist with stabilizing in the community and bettering their outlook for the future.
