Background
About Stephanie C.
Stephanie Choriatis is an accomplished creative producer with experience in both narrative and non-fiction film/media. She holds an MFA in Creative Producing from Columbia University’s Film program. Stephanie is deeply committed to social justice for women and has used her platform to amplify important voices and shed light on complex issues. Stephanie's recent projects include producing the acclaimed podcast series "The Modesty Files," which explores the stories of former fundamentalist church members, and "Psychiatrist as Patient: Caring for the Caregiver," a documentary short created in partnership with Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance, which premiered worldwide at film festivals. Her current short film,"Bloomers," which follows a woman influenced by Christian purity culture as she explores dating for the first time, is currently in post-production and was awarded two microgrants from the Pano Network. In tandem with producing, Stephanie works as an educator for hands-on filmmaking and digital media education with students of all ages - from elementary school to college. She has taught film and digital media arts at prestigious institutions throughout the city, including Columbia University and New York Film Academy. Her students' films have been accepted and screened at several festivals across the country, such as The Big Apple Film Festival, The Lift-Off Film Festival, and the All-American High School Film Festival. Stephanie's goal is to educate and empower young creatives to create impactful media themselves. Stephanie also works as a production sound mixer and audio engineer. She has worked on a variety of film and audio projects, including narrative and documentary films, corporate media, and podcasts. Stephanie is dedicated to delivering high-quality sound that enhances the overall experience of the final product. As a female sound mixer, Stephanie takes pride in empowering other women in the industry and believes in the importance of diverse representation in all aspects of media production.
