About Stephanie C. Mitchell

I believe in the power of words. Whether they’re spoken or written, the right words can change everything. I give keynote talks that explore how we communicate, and push us to think differently. I lead workshops about clear communication — whether you're writing, speaking, or networking. I also work with clients one-on-one to make their writing sharper. I have a law degree from the University of Victoria and a bachelor of journalism degree with first-class honours from the University of King’s College. I started my career working as a news reporter and producer for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. That's where I learned that you have one chance to catch the listener's attention — and you can do that by giving a great performance and choosing the right words. I have also worked in government communications and law school administration. Now, I live in our nation's capital, Ottawa, with my husband Scott. When I’m not helping others become brilliant speakers and writers, I can be found spending time outside climbing mountains, swimming in new lakes, and cross-country skiing. Do you care about your words? I'd be glad to work with you. Find out more on my website at or send me an email at hello at stephaniecmitchell.com.
